In 2009, a then 16 year-old, Catelynn Lowell captured the attention of millions of viewers when she was featured on MTV’s groundbreaking show, 16 and Pregnant. The show, which followed the pregnancies of a group of teenage girls, highlighted the ups and downs that the young mothers-to-be faced while trying to balance teen life with pending motherhood. After giving birth to her daughter, Carly, Catelynn was featured on the 16 and Pregnant spin-off series, Teen Mom, which continued to follow the young girls as they embarked on motherhood. However, unlike the rest of the teen girls on the show, Catelynn and her boyfriend Tyler had chosen to give their daughter up for adoption in an effort to provide her with the best life possible. 5. Catelynn Lowell wants to have four kids.
Although Catelynn is technically a mother of two, in the past has shared that she definitely wants to have more children in the future. However, her long-time boyfriend turned fiancé, Tyler Baltierra seems to think that three is the magic number. During an interview, Catelynn stated: “I try talking him into to giving me four, and he’s like uh-uh after three I am getting chopped/ But definitely just getting married and being together, and taking it slow. I want to have a good at least four years by ourselves as a married couple, make our own memories and then decide to have children.” Although Catelynn wasn’t able to stick to her original timeline, she seems happier than ever.

Catelynn Lowell and her fiancé Tyler Baltierra are more than just friends and soul mates. Thanks to a marriage between Catelynn’s mother (April) and Tyler’s father (Butch), the two are actually step-siblings. Apparently, Butch and April began dating when Catelynn and Tyler were in middle school, and although they were together for quite some time, their relationship was always very turbulent. After years of dealing with alleged abuse, April decided to leave Butch and move on with her life. In the fall of 2014, April remarried another man in a small ceremony with family and friends.

Aside from appearing in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and its follow-up series, Teen Mom, Catelynn also appeared in a season of VH1’s reality therapy show, Couples Therapy. The show, which focuses on celebrity couples who want to improve their relationships, shed light on some of Catelynn and Tyler’s relationship struggles. During the show, Tyler, who opted to postpone the couple’s wedding, admitted that he was unsure about his relationship with Catelynn and feared there were both settling. However, by the end of the season, the two seemed to have their relationship back on track and still planned on getting married when they felt the time was right.
1. Catelynn Lowell recently gave birth to a second child.
On New Year’s Day in 2015, Catelynn gave birth to a daughter which she named Novalee Reign. After giving birth, Tyler posted a photo of Catelynn holding the couple’s daughter with the caption: “”Momma Bear holding our little angel! Can’t tell you the feeling of witnessing this. Look at my beautiful bride to be! That woman is beyond strong, caring, and selfless. Although the couple is very happy with their family, many have been critical of their choice to have another child. Fellow Teen Mom Farrah Abraham accused the couple of making a “bad choice” in regards to their second child; however, both Catelynn and Tyler have stood by their decision and feel that they are ready to be the best parents possible to little Novalee.
